Google is being talked about in many business circles today.
Businesses that haven’t targeted Google with there marketing approaches are, in my opinion, behind the times.
With Google you put in a keyword like: “local search”. The results that return are those entities that have been able to target that specific keyword phrase best. Google Ad Words is another way to get on the first pages of Google, but you have to pay to be placed. This is called pay per click advertising and can be extremely expensive if not done right.
What is the difference between Google and Google Local?
“Austin Texas Pizza” and “Car Repair Austin, Texas are two examples of a local search. It has been reported to me that 30% of searches today involve this type of local search process. For that reason I believe that a rise will be seen over the next year in the amount of local searches that people perform.
{Who can use a Google local listing|So who are Google local listings best used by|What companies are best suited for Google local listings??
- Beauty salons
- Restaurants
- Retail outlets
If you have a local product or service that is designed for a local clientele then local ads on Google are certainly something you should consider. Recently, I required a new tire after hitting a curb and used local search technology to find a tire shop less than 1 mile away.
How do you get involved with local Google listings?
Many people simply Google phrases like “how do I setup a local listing in Google” and follow the process. It works, but I don’t advise following that trail.
Why not?
Just setting up a listing on Google often fails to add the strategic result pulling elements that define success.
Can you answer these questions with a “yes”::
1. What single element brings first page results to your local listing best?
2. Why the “hot to” and “why to” ingredients of optimized reviews are so important?
3. The correct ways to optimize you’re listing for optimal results?
Creating your own local listing may make sense if you truly know the answers to the above questions. My own answer to this dilemma for my business success is to turn to a company called that understands these processes. Not only do they have the best system possible for me to gain the best results from my local listing, but they don’t stop there.
Showing up in free organic searches along with local Google results is bound to have a positive result, and that is what my favorite company does. Since nearly 60% of searchers on Google look in the main body for the results they need it only makes sense to show up organically.
That is still not good enough for the company I recommend to get found on the Web locally.
Their processes also include running targeted Google AdWords campaigns for you. I’ve discovered from the draw of my own bank account that Google Adwords can be extremely expensive if you don’t know how to handle it correctly.
When you are able to be found in Google maps, organic results, pay per click advertising and more by searchers guess what the likely result will be? Traffic, or at least a greater likelihood of it.
So what is my favorite recommendation for Google local marketing strategy: With that said would it be any wonder that I would highly recommend EZ Local as a superb Google local marketing strategy for new business directory listings on the Web? It’s also why I’ve chosen to link arms with them as one of their small business consultants.
